Thursday, February 15, 2018, Day 1 and B Week

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival at the same event is called The Lunar New Year.  Celebrations traditionally run from the evening preceding the first day which is 12 pm today, to the Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first calendar month. This is the year of the dog.

If you would like to participate in spring sports, please hand in to the nurse, an updated physical and a parent consent form no later than Wednesday, February 28th.

Kids Helping Pets Club is having a Towel and Blanket Drive. During the month of February, they will be collecting old towels and blankets for use at local shelters. Bins will be in the Cafeteria lobby or you can bring them to Room 258.

On this day in history – in 1968 Henry Lewis broke racial barriers when he was named director of the New Jersey Symphony, becoming the first Black conductor and music director of a major American orchestra.

Driving certificates are available to be picked up in Dr. Artiles office for all students who have completed the Fall Driver’s Education Program.

Monday, February 12, 2018, Day 2 and B Week

Congratulations to the Jericho VEX Robotics Team 9932 F for winning the Tournament Champion Award this weekend at East Rockaway High School. Team J won the Programming Skills portion of the competition as well. Last week Team D won the Tournament Champion Award and Team J won the Excellence Award at Adelphi University. These teams will now compete at the VEX Southern Tier Vex Competition in March. Congratulations to all Jericho VEX Robotics Teams. Let’s go Hawks!

If you would like to participate in spring sports, please hand in to the nurse, an updated physical and a parent consent form no later than Wednesday, February 28th.  

You can buy a Valentine’s Day singing telegram for your friends and/or teachers today and tomorrow before school and during periods 5 and 6 outside the cafeteria.
