Friday, September 27, 2024 - Day 2/A Week

Espero tengan un buen día. Happy Hispanic Heritage Month. Currently, there are 60.5 million people living in the United States with Hispanic descent, representing 18.4 percent of the total US population. Each year millions of Americans celebrate Hispanic culture, history, and contributions to society from Spain, the Caribbean, and South and Central America. Hispanic Heritage Month, starting on Sept 15th and ending October 15th, marks the period where most Latin American countries became independent from Spain during the 19th century. The Jericho United Club and Ms. Vardhan invite you to celebrate the history and customs of Hispanic Culture. To honor this month, we will be organizing an after-school buffet in room 260 on Oct. 15th from the Colombian restaurant Punto Rojo as well as leading a bachata dance workshop! But for today, we will be playing Hispanic music in between periods, so feel free to dance along to salsa, reggaeton, merengue, and more in the hallway.
