DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thursday, June 10, 2021 - B Week; Day 2

Although steps have been made to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people such as legal marriage, there has been continued harassment and unfortunate acts of care towards the community. Between 11 and 40% of LGBTQ youth are homeless in the United States. Donations can be made to the Ali Forney center to protect homeless LGTBQ youth in New York

Quotation of the Day: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did.” – Mark Twain

Friday, June 11, 2021 - B Week; Day 2

The best way to support LGBTQ+ people is to listen to real LGBTQ+ voices. Take time to learn about the LGBTQ+ community and if you can, speak up when you see homophobia. The Jericho High School GSA wishes you all a happy Pride month.

Quotation of the Day: “In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision.” — Dalai Lama
